Abstract

Peritoneal carcinomatosis is a complex problem, despite the diversity of modern methods of the malignant diseases treatment. The combination of high temperatures and the simultaneous deposit of cytotoxic drugs into the intraperitoneal space provides a deeper penetration of the chemotherapy agent into the tumor tissues. Use of the cytoreductive operations in combination with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy provides a high level of clinical performance compared to classical surgical methods of the abdominal or pelvic cancer treatment, which gives a chance to extend the life of the patient. Powered by clinical observation of the combined use of cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer.
